Formed in Buffalo in 1986, the Goo Goo Dolls grew from punk and alternative roots into one of pop rock's most enduring bands. Frontman and guitarist John Rzeznik and bassist and vocalist Robby Takac have led the group through a career spanning more than a dozen studio albums. Their breakthrough album, Dizzy Up the Girl (1998), delivered enduring favorites including “Iris,” “Slide” and “Black Balloon.” “Iris,” a defining ballad for generations of listeners, became known for its emotional songwriting and memorable singalong chorus.

The band's catalog also includes “Name” from A Boy Named Goo, “Here Is Gone” and “Big Machine” from Gutterflower, and newer material from 2022's Chaos in Bloom. Their live shows bring together melodic rock, familiar hits and deeper catalog selections, with “Iris” often inspiring a crowd-wide singalong. At this New York date, the band shares the bill with British rock group The Struts and hard-rock mainstays Def Leppard; the supplied event details do not specify the running order or individual set lengths.

Prices currently start around $120–$500+ for this major concert, with actual prices varying by seat location, availability and demand.

Venue and Seating Information

Madison Square Garden is a multi-level indoor arena above Penn Station, giving concertgoers convenient access to trains and the subway. Its bowl layout includes Floor, 100 Level, 200 Level and 300 Level seating, with options suited to different budgets and views.

For a strong balance of proximity and visibility, consider lower-bowl side seats near center stage in the 100 Level. Central sections in the 200 Level can also offer a clear, elevated view of the full production. Floor seats put fans closest to the performers, though standing crowds or stage equipment may affect sightlines. Seats directly behind the stage and extreme upper-corner locations may have less favorable views depending on the concert setup.

Parking Information

Parking around the Garden is limited, and event-night rates can rise with demand. Public transportation is a practical alternative, while drivers may want to compare garages before arriving.

• Nearby commercial garages: Garages near Penn Station and 8th Avenue are typically a short walk from the arena. Event parking may cost approximately $30–$80 or more, and nearby spaces can fill quickly.
• Garages toward Herald Square or Chelsea: Options around a 10–15-minute walk away may cost roughly $20–$50, depending on demand and availability.
• Street parking: Limited and subject to strict restrictions; it is not a reliable plan for a major event.

Avoid leaving parking arrangements until the last minute, when nearby garages may be full or significantly more expensive.
